Overview
“Jabberwocky” is a mock-serious poem that was first published as a part of Lewis Carroll’s 1871 children’s book, Through the Looking-Glass
. However, the poem’s joyfully nonsensical language has given it a life of its own that goes far beyond the book. Indeed, the poem has been set to music and has inspired adaptations for both stage and screen.
