Oh glorious, glorious Friday, you are upon us! We bow to you, and in your honor, we vow to spend the next 48 hours eating string cheese in thick, soft hoodies, dancing in our socks to Empire of the Sun, and laying on our beds with our heads hanging off the side, "reading" our assigned books upside down while using 23 percent of our brains to think about something completely unrelated to the task at hand.
If you're reading this, congratulations!You (probably, unless you go to one of those awesome late-start schools) survived your first week(s) of school!
But comments like raj101's in this post make us realize not all of you had a stellar start to the year. So, in honor of the wonderful raj101, we'd love it if all you Sparklers wrote the cruddiest thing that happened to you this school year in the comments. We'll collect a bunch of them from Twitter, Facebook, and here to make one grand cathartic, SPECIAL Friday Awards next week.
Hoorayyyyy! Fridayyyyyy! And for many of you, this is the Last Friday of Freedom (sorry) so let's make it a good one!

Listen, we miss Emily too. It's been horrible, trust me. I don't really want to get into it (too painful); let's just say we can't wait for her to get back, and leave it at that.

It's Friday! Yayayayayay! On the other hand, it's a Friday in August, which means another week is drawing to a close, and fall is creeping ever closer. So we're feeling bittersweet today. It's kinda like eating Jelly Belly Sours.
But our moms always told us to focus on the positive, and what better way to do that than with some FRIDAY AWARDS?? With no further ado...

It's that time again! Time to wallow in the misery that is all your yet-to-be-started required summer readingcelebrate! And because it seems like almost everyone's been procrastinating a little on summer reading, the theme of the week is procrastination, as in, do it more. Here, now, with us. (Why not?!)
Congratulations! You've made it through another week. That makes you one week smarter, one week more self-aware, and one week further away from that time you did something really stupid in front of somebody you really like.
