My immediate reaction to the latest episode of Lost was mass confusion. How could it not be? One crazy event unfolded after another, providing a whole series of new questions and mysteries. Flashbacks? Flash forwards? Suicide? Kevin Johnson?
Let’s break it down and provide a little clarity.
Poor Benjamin Linus, always portrayed as so evil, so devious, so despicable. After watching this week’s episode, do you know what I decided? That portrayal is absolutely spot on. Ben? He’s awful, truly awful. Why, you ask?
Stardust is like a small handful of candy—sweet and tasty, but not nearly enough to keep you satisfied for long. Although the film’s intentions are good, it, as a whole, seems just short of being a complete success. The characters are charming and the sets are fantastic, but the overall feeling of the film is that of an overstuffed fairy tale with barely enough room for its happy ending. That aside, Stardust does accomplish its goal, to tell the epic love tale between a lost prince and a fallen star, as well as the story of the characters they meet and fend off along the way.
