To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Pirates of the Caribbean was released over Memorial Day weekend to blockbuster ticket sales. The movie followed in the footsteps of a widely praised first installment and a sequel savaged by critics and fans alike, though the box office receipts belied the backlash. Still, a lot of pirate fans weren’t sure if the newest movie would measure up.

The fact that his posthumous output is beginning to rival that of Tupac’s is a testament to not only the wealth of material he left behind, but also to the appetite of the public, who were obviously left wanting more from this soulful songwriter.
