A journalist decides to handcuff herself to Hugh Grant at his movie premiere. No wonder the guy is in every hopelessly romantic flick. Given the circumstances, he seems suprisingly tolerant throughout.
Do you think this prank is all in good fun or completely rude?
So, faithful readers, let me first take you on a trip down memory lane.
It all started on February 4th, 2005 at 6:18 p.m.–that was when the first OCD column , aptly titled “The O.C.D.” was posted. Andrew and I had written it that afternoon in an attempt to (a) be funny, (b) break down the barriers that keep grown men from watching chick dramas on TV and liking them and (c) get kids in the SparkWorld involved in our then employer’s website. Might I be so bold as to say that I think we accomplished all three (not every damned week, of course), and had quite a bit of fun ourselves.
We all know House loves a crazy medical case, so it’s no surprise he jumped at the opportunity to work with a patient who can’t feel ANY pain. What does grab you, however, is the fact that he took the case for selfish reasons. His plan: To steal the nerves from Painless Patient and implant them in his own body, thus easing the tremendous pain he experiences daily. Mad scientist or just a plain ol’ jerk? You decide.
Sales figures are already in. The Shins third album is an unquestioned success, the highest charting debut of a Sub Pop artist ever. (And remember, Sub Pop was Nirvana’s first home!) But just because the general public has finally taken notice of James Mercer’s perfectly constructed pop songs—mostly thanks to a little movie called Garden State—does that mean that this album is worthy of your hard-earned money? Well, yes and no.
Note: Due to last night’s double helping of Lost, we’ll be covering the abundance of confusion in two parts. This time around, we’ll talk about Desmond’s time travel and in a couple of days we’ll get to Jack’s tattoo mystery. There’s a lot to cover, so stay with me people.
If anyone out there really understands what’s going on with Desmond, by all means, share with the rest of us. I can’t quite figure out if Desmond really has psychic abilities or if any of his psychic predictions from his flashback really happened or he just imagines they did post-key turning. Oh, and if you understood what my last sentence meant, God bless you. Read more…
