Literary Dystopias, Ranked by How Likely You'd Be to Survive Them

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Also known as the dystopia that you would be least likely to survive, purely as a matter of principle. You would have to weigh your instincts of self-preservation against the knowledge that books are burning. You wouldn’t openly defy the regime, of course, but you’d act just squirrelly enough that your wife would report your suspicious pro-book leanings to the proper authorities.

Or maybe you’re just too spirited. Maybe you’re too much of a free thinker, a little too willing to ask “why” instead of “how.” That’s a good way to get yourself set on fire, or hunted by the Mechanical Hound. Good luck with that.
