9 Literary Friendships That Will Definitely Show Up On Your English Quiz

BBC

Sherlock Holmes and John Watson

Friendship Type: Partners in Crime (-Solving)

Before there was Rick and Morty, there was the original dream team: the boys of 221B Baker Street. Watson thinks that Sherlock is off his rocker, and Sherlock makes fun of Watson every chance he gets (hey, who doesn’t wish they had a brilliant doctor buddy to mock as their intellectual inferior?). But when it comes down to it, these guys are fiercely loyal to one another. Without Watson, Holmes would just be a lonely genius (OK, maybe he'd be a lonely genius in prison), and Watson thrives on the daily adventure, the writing fodder, and the veritable buffet of putdowns that Sherlock provides. They're two dudes who hate crime, but love each other.

About the Author
Damien Galeone

Damien Galeone is a university teacher and writer living in Prague, where he moved thirteen years ago in search of adventure but instead started teaching English. He lives with a cat who’s plotting his murder and he has written lots of stuff that you can find on the internet. His grandmom ab-so-lut-ely loved his novel Senseless and his book of stories Christmitzvah; otherwise they were mostly ignored. His life's dream is to open a hotdog shop, where his allegiance to mustard vs ketchup would remain 68/32.
