9 of the Most Satisfying Deaths in Fiction, Ranked

There are many good feelings, but perhaps none quite as good as when a character you just can’t STAND finally, finally bites it—preferably in a way that is both embarrassing and entirely on-brand. For instance, I will probably die alone in my apartment while choking on soup, and if my life were a novel, readers would say, “Yes, that makes sense, and thank God.”

However, some fictional deaths are more satisfying than others, and not all of them are satisfying in quite the same way. Because we are dealing with a sliding scale here (some fictional deaths have me fist pumping egregiously on public transit, others merely garner a gratified smirk), today we will be ranking them accordingly.
