Every Chapter in Frankenstein Summed Up in a Single Sentence

20th Century Fox

As someone who loves Gothic novels, fringe science, refusing to take responsibility for my actions, and Switzerland, I think it will surprise virtually no one to learn that Frankenstein is one of my all-time favorite books.

I often wish I could re-read it, but (just as often) I find I simply don’t have the time. I’m a modern woman with friends and family and a Netflix queue and a dog, so re-reading a book I’ve already read twelve times isn’t exactly a top priority.

The next-best thing? Reading one-sentence summaries of each and every chapter. To do my part for the betterment of humanity, I’ve put together the following slideshow—for you, for me, for everyone who wants to say they’ve read Frankenstein recently and only feel slightly like a liar. Let’s begin!
