Every Harry Potter Character, Summed Up in a Single Sentence

20 years ago today, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was published, and none of us were ever the same (in fact, the vast majority of us have spent the last two decades waiting for our Hogwarts acceptance letters, which surely will arrive any day).

In the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling singlehandedly created an entire immersive world, and even more impressively, she was able to fill it with characters as nuanced as they are plentiful. In fact, there are more characters in Harry Potter than there are people in Cincinnati (don’t Google that, just trust us), so it stands to reason that, after 20 years, you might need a quick refresher. And by quick, we do mean quick—in our opinion, one sentence is really all you need to get a feel for who a person is and what they're about.

They said it couldn’t be done (nobody said that), but we love a challenge (we really don’t, we're cowards), so here it is: every Harry Potter character (well, a lot of them anyway) summed up in a single sentence.
