If Fictional Characters Could Text: THE LONG-AWAITED SEQUEL

BWarner Bros/Facebook

As we mentioned in the glorious first installment of If Fictional Characters Could Text, calling people on the phone is the death rattle of a bygone era. Nowadays it’s all about TEXTING. It’s about EMOJIS. It’s about getting a message from your crush and NOT RESPONDING RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE THAT WOULD UNDERMINE THE COOL, LAID-BACK PERSONA YOU’RE TRYING TO CULTIVATE HERE. And if you don’t think some of the greatest characters in literature would have wanted to get in on that action, clearly you don’t know Fitzwilliam "MY FLIRTING STYLE IS BASICALLY JUST INSULTS AND WINKY FACES" Darcy.

In real life, she goes by the name Courtney Gorter. This is a closely guarded secret, and you're the only one who knows about it, so be cool. You can follow her on Twitter or check out her website if you want, but it's just going to be a lot of complaining.
