Have you ever wondered how magic in the Potterverse, Narnia, or Middle Earth actually works? Like, why do you have to say "wingardium leviOHsa?" Is magic like Siri, and it won't work if you mumble? Is that even fair?

We've put on our wizard hats, looked into our pensieves, and used the Force to determine exactly how magic works in different fictional universes. Spoiler alert: magic rarely works the same way twice.
