If you consider the amount of balcony climbing, mewling, and back-alley fights in Romeo and Juliet, you have to concede that there is a 50/50 chance Shakespeare wrote it about cats. Add to that Romeo's penchant for falling instantaneously in loyal forever-love with whomever gives him a pat, and you can see that the whole play is really a treatise on the age-old rift between cats and dogs.
