"Divergent" Trailer! "Divergent" Trailer!

Summit Entertainment

*Prickles on the arm skin* For fans of Veronica Roth's Divergent book series, today is the day we get our first good look at Tris, played by Shailene Woodley, and Four, played by (James Franco + fierceness to the power of 10), Theo James. Watch the trailer below then come back to this stream of bubbly consciousness!

For the newbies out there, Divergent is set in a dystopian Chicago, where society is divided up into five factions: Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, Amity and Dauntless. Beatrice ("Tris") Prior and her brother Caleb are born into the selfless abnegation faction, but have the opportunity in their sixteenth year to change factions after taking the mandatory government brain-simulation test. If they fail the subsequent initiations, they risk ending up "factionless" in the streets. On top of that, Tris's test results mark her as "Divergent," which means "Danger" whenever Kate Winslet strolls onscreen with her authoritarian blonde bob. Triss is a small but gutsy teen and must decide whether or not to spurn her parents and choose the danger-loving Dauntless faction—a wild group of tattooed train-jumpers who get around by running and leaping off the ruined buildings of old Chicago. Work those abs!

Here they are getting off at their local stop on the train, while it zooms along by. Tuck and roll, guys!

Here are the frighteningly smouldery beginnings of a challenging relationship between Four and Tris:

And here's some romance at 60 mph. NBD, just hangin' outside a train 20 meters above the ground.

Put a pin in MARCH 21 when this series hits cinemas!
