Taylor Swift Goes Back in Time to Ancient History/1986 in New Song!

Taylor Swift has gone full '80s new wave electropop in her new song that we lovvovve. Tay-ears for Swi-fears has a thumping synth beat, and I-I-I-I-I can't stop listening! "Sweeter than Fiction" has shades of Simple Minds, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, the Cure, Tears for Fears and Debbie Gibson, and OH, WE CAN FEEL OUR HAMMER PANTS AND PERMS INFLATING AS WE LISTEN. (Here is a Duran Duran hyperlink for no reason. It is '80s homework time!)

What's even better is that Taylor DAYNE Swift is in a great mood in this thumpy, keyboard-engineered triumph! No sadsies about ex-boyfriends or unfair highschool social hierarchies, just the simple, sweet Taylor that we all fell in love with.

What do you think of Taylor's new sizzong?

Janet once had a smexy dream where Haymitch Abernathy hugged her meaningfully, which I think means they are married now. She would like to third-person you on Twitter @janetmanley
