Get ready for the good-deed equivalent of a bunny sleeping on a kitty sleeping on a puppy—but in this case, the ingredients are an amazing YA author, an It girl, and a cause we can get behind.
In preparation for playing Hazel Grace in the hugely awaited film adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars (I may or may not be writing this from a sleeping bag parked outside the local multiplex), actress of the moment Shailene Woodley is about to cut off her hair. Fittingly, she'll be donating her locks to Children with Hair Loss, which gives wigs to children who have lost their hair to medical issues.
Green has taken to the Internet to spread the news, asking all nerdfighters and goodhearted folk of any stripe to consider doing the same. The only thing better than short hair (though I may be biased) is contributing to a great cause. Woodley's awesome move only makes us THAT MUCH MORE excited to see her take on one of our all-time favorite YA protags.
Would you cut your hair for a good cause? How psyched are you about Woodley's casting?
