The Year in Celebrity Baby Names (a Matching Game!)

The Year in Celebrity Baby Names (a Matching Game!)

By Brandon Specktor

Celebrities are people, too—and, like, people, they sometimes hook up with other people to produce entirely NEW people. (The age we live in!)

2012 was a banner year for new people with famous parents and kooky birth-names, bonding famous rappers and famous reality show punchlines alike in the mild miracle of dirty diaper changing. Or maybe they get their poop butlers to do that…we're not sure. We're not celebrities…yet.

Below are 10 of our favorite baby names from 2012. But we're not just gonna give them to you. You gotta work for it. Match the celebribaby's first name (in the numbered column below) with their last name (in the alphabetized column further below) and win the satisfaction of being a pop-culture GENIUS (or lucky guesser).

Answers:

1-E. Blue Ivy Carter was born to Jay-Z and Beyonce. Kid's lucky she got a last name at all.
(Creepy bonus pic:)

2-C. Twins Fiona Leigh and James Timothy Pudi were born to Community star Danny Pudi and his lovely wife Bridget. If Troy and Abed raised a baby what d'you think they'd name it? Inspector SpaceTime McPoopinMeyer Jr.?

3-B. Maxwell Drew Simpson was born to singer/tuna aficionado Jessica and her husband Eric Johnson. Thanks to mom's shrewd economical planning (lust for spotlight), Maxwell was already making tabloid covers before he even popped out to say hi.

4-A. Exton Elias Downey was delivered by rocket suit to Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan in February. We suppose the dangerously wealthy-sounding "Exton Elias" still beats "Robert Downey Jr. Jr."

5-D. Lorenzo Dominic LaValle was born to Jersey Shore icon Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and fiance Jionni LaValle. We decided to take the high road here, and not make any further jokes about a child who has a long, strange life of being "Snooki's baby" ahead of him.

6-G. Noah Shannon Green was born to Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green. No word yet if the child has aligned himself with Autobot of Decepticon morality.

7-F. Tennessee James Toth arrived in full cowboy getup to actress Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth. Witherspoon has two children from her previous marriage to Ryan Phillipe, but we don't care anymore. We just really want Tennessee James to think we're cool.

8-J. Olive Barrymore Kopelman was born to actress Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman. Olive, too, is already tabloid famous.

9-I. India Hemsworth descended from Valhalla into the meaty arms of actor Chris (Thor) and wife Elsa Pataky. Producers are already looking to pair India with Exton Elias Downey in the 2014 blockbuster tentatively titled "Baby Avengers: Pooper Heroes."

10-H. Born to undeniably cute comedians Chris Pratt (Parks and Rec) and Anna Faris (The House Bunny), Jack Pratt has the best chance of ever youngling on this list to grow up normal.

How'd you do?
What's your favorite celbribaby name of the year?
Is it cool for super famous moms to pose with their newborns on tabloid covers?
Or will that lead to a whole new crop of culturally-devastating Honey Boo Boos?
Would you see "Baby Avengers" if we didn't just make it up?
