Our Hearts Go Out to Those Affected by Today's Tragedy in Connecticut

By Emily Winter

This morning, at least 27 people were killed by a gunman in a Connecticut elementary school. Eighteen of the dead were children. More were wounded, and are currently in the hospital.

Schools in the Newtown, CT surrounding area are on lockdown, according to reports.

The shooter was apparently a 24-year-old man, and he is now dead. He had four firearms and was wearing a bulletproof vest when he entered the K-4th grade elementary school.

We here at SparkLife are deeply saddened by this tragedy. To those Sparklers who have been affected by the shooting—directly and indirectly—we want to offer a safe, constructive place to discuss it. We hope you'll feel comfortable talking about it in the comments, or writing about it in a Sparkler post. You're among compassionate, caring friends here. Let us know if there's anything we can do.
