Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby was supposed to come out this December, along with Les Miserables and The Hobbit (two other books-turned-movies that we're super excited about). Buuuuuut...Gatsby isn't going to come out this year.
The movie's release has been delayed until the summer of 2013, which, when you think about it, really isn't that long of a delay. The real question, though, is why? A Warner Bros. representative released a statement saying, "it makes sense to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible."
Largest audience possible, huh? We're going to side with everyone else and say that they realized how incredibly busy this December's film schedule was and decided they'd better wait until they wouldn't have as much competition. And, honestly, we're not too sad: the delay might help our film budget spread a little bit farther.
Are you sad about the delay?
Can't wait til next summer? You can always watch the trailer again!
