Everyone’s a fan of summer lovin’. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John sang about it in Grease, the people in Dirty Dancing seemed to have a nice time with it, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphr—scratch that.
Still, no one considers winter the hotter season—temperature or romance-wise. However, there are lots of reasons winter is steamier than summer. Here are just a few reasons why winter makeouts are way better than summer ones.
They’re a little unexpected. Everyone makes out in the summer. Or at least it seems like everyone is making out. What’s fun about the winter is that it’s a lot less expected. Awha—sowwy, we cank dawk wif a suwpwise dongue in our moulls.
Hot and cold. Making out in the winter combines a really awesome mix of hot and cold. Think about it: the air and your nose are freezing cold. Your mouths are like little lust ovens. When you combine those two things… I might need a cold shower.
It’s kinda innocent. Summer is certainly sexy and sultry, since you’re always sweaty and wearing a swim suit. Winter, on the other hand, has a playful innocence to it—they start with the things you did as a little kid: wrestling in the snow, ice skating, and snowball fights. And they end with the things you do as an adult.
Layers. Winter is not like its slutty cousin, summer. In the summer, everyone can see everyone’s business. Winter, on the other hand, is not only more forgiving from a love handle perspective, but there is something cute about all those scarves, hats, puffy coats, and furry boots.
Having someone to make out with in the winter > summer. In the summer you have sports, the beach, and tons of stuff to do. In the summer you have… Vampire Diaries reruns? Truth is, having someone to snuggle up with in the winter is way more fun than having someone in the summer.
It’s not all fun and winter games, though. A few reasons they’re worse:
- Snot
- Chapped lips
- Static
What do you think? What’s better—a winter or summer romance?
