Facebook Makes You Sad!

Facebook Makes You Sad!

By Scott Free

Stop the presses! Facebook makes you sad. Since people on Facebook generally post pictures of themselves with happy smiles or laughing, making goofy faces or having fun, they project the image that they are happy people. According to studies, the more time you spend on Facebook, the more you begin believing that other people have it better than you.

But don’t worry! We're here to save your sorry guts!

First, cleanse your friend list. Unfriend people who are constantly posting happy pictures of them with their “besties” or “BFs” or “pet cat Jeremy” or “the President.” Friend people who post albums and albums of themselves doing different things, like playing the piano or smelling flowers or with anime eyes or looking sad.

Second, cleanse your colon. Self-explanatory. A healthy colon is a happy colon!

Third, hang out with someone. Or if you can only spare an hour, call an old friend! I know, so 2000s, right? Ask a friend how they’re doing, and really listen when they answer. No, texting is not the same. Give someone all of your attention for just a bit.

Or, hang out with a family member. Your family might think it’s weird, but I guarantee if you take some time to just do something with one parent, your mom or dad will be super impressed, and won't get mad next time you mess up the freshly-cleaned bathroom. Despite what you may think, your parents leave more of an imprint on who you are as a person than anyone else in your life.

Or, go outside and do something you can only do at this time of year. If it’s winter, ski! If it’s spring, go parasailing! If it’s summer, go parasailing! If it’s fall, go parasailing! If it’s Indian Summer, go scalp a buffalo!

Do you think Facebook makes you sad?
