SomedayI'llBePartOfYourWorld is here to educate you on My Little Pony. Are you ready to become a bronie? —Sparkitors

Ever since regenerating into a bronie (still not a ginger though), I have become aware of the complete dearth of pony material on SparkLife. Since that is obviously something that must be remedied, I thought I could provide an introductory course, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic 101 for all you non-bronies out there.

A Brief Background:

The franchise began in 1983 with, of course, the show “My Little Pony,” which possibly has the longest intro in history. Then came “My Little Pony ‘n Friends,” which, like the spelling of the title, was awful. (It should be noted that this show sometimes consisted of potato children.) Then came "My Little Pony Tales". Next we had the best-known reincarnation of My Little Pony which, to confuse us, is also titled “My Little Pony.” These ponies are the ones you probably remember as McDonalds’ prizes. (That’s fame right there.) Now we have “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic,” which is on its second season!

The Story:

The basic plot is as follows: Twilight Sparkle, the bookish pony, is sent to Ponyville by Princess Celestia to study the magic of friendship. (Stop laughing now or I’ll have to love and tolerate you.) She befriends Rainbow Dash, the fastest pony in all of Equestria; Fluttershy, the shy one who’s an animal lover; Pinkie Pie, the insane one; Applejack, the hillbilly; and Rarity; the diva.

Some FAQ's:

  • Do they have tattoos on their bum? The ponies do not sport tramp stamps; those are, in fact, their cutie marks! They magically appear on the ponies when they discover their special talent; some have theorized that this is when they hit puberty.
  • What are “Bronies”? Bronies are fans of MLP considered to be out of the intended demographic of, you know, little girls. The diverse fan base even includes former president Bill Clinton. Bronies express their love for the show through art, fandubs, Physics class presentations, cosplay, and fan fiction.
  • Why do people like this? Similar to “Phineas and Ferb,” MLP is a show that reminds you of your childhood while still entertaining you. Simply put, it makes you smile. It also consists of gems such as this.

There you go, look up the first episode on the interwebs (it’s on YouTube, Hasbro doesn’t seem to care about it either) and you’ll be 20% cooler. If not, well then you’re a blank flank.

Do you secretly (or not so secretly) love My Little Pony?
