Why PDA is the Worst Thing Ever

We’ve all seen it, in the halls of our schools, the streets of our towns, and the shops of our malls. Public Displays of Affection are, by far, the worst thing ever dreamed up by modern society. Here are some reasons explaining my rationale:

1. I don’t want to see that. You may think that by sucking the face off your companion in public, you are somehow creating a testament to your love, but this is the opposite of true. When I see two lovebirds in the grips of passion, I try to imagine the most horrific way they will be forever separated.

2. It does not make a good profile picture. For some reason, people seem to think that a picture of you kissing someone makes for a good picture. What it really does is make you look “loose,” and now whenever someone sees you on Facebook or Myspace or Google+, they will identify you as that person who made out with that other person and thought it was a super idea to put a picture of it on the internet.

3. You are making the people around you physically and emotionally ill. Kissing is by far one of the most unsanitary things you can do. You are spreading bacteria, and I, for one, want no part of it.

4. You remind the people around you of their crippling loneliness. Just because you were somehow able to find some significant other, that does not mean you can flaunt it in the face of those who have not.

So next time you think about making out with someone in public, just imagine how much everyone around you will hate you if you do.
