Three Holiday Looks for $8.45

Three Holiday Looks for $8.45

By Apneet

This week, I returned to the Goodwill Outlet to scour for some fabulous things to wear around this holiday season. I hate the idea of spending a big chunk of change on that dress "I wore once" for a special occasion. I prefer to thrift items that won't have a very high dollar-amount-to-wear ratio. As I mentioned before, the Goodwill Outlet sells their clothing by the pound. I purchased seven items at five pounds, and the total came to $8.45. That's a mere .82 per piece of clothing! (Granted, I bought lots of sheers and lightweight garments.)

This outfit is something I might try out at a family get-together, or other low-key event. The skirt is made in as festive a color as you can get, and the clean lines in the shirt contrast brilliantly with it. I added a velvet shoe to kick this outfit into holiday lane, and voila! This blouse is becoming my favorite thing to put with everything. It's truly versatile and goes with most anything in a way that's not too "matchy."

I literally could not believe my eyes when I pulled this dress out of the bin at the Goodwill Outlet. It features a sequin embellishment all over, with shoulder detail. I also love the slit along the leg, and the sheer sleeves! I tied a belt around my waist because the dress is a little roomy. Also, I hiked up the hem by tucking some fabric  above the belt since the slit was hitting me at my knee, and looked a bit awkward. This would be a perfect dress for me for a night out to dinner or with friends.

Last but not least, this may be my favorite sequin purchase as of late. Wait, I just said "my favorite sequin purchase." Since when did I start wearing sequins?!? It's this time of year, I tell you. Anyhow, this is an '90's Giorgio Armani lace and sequin jacket with a button closure.

Though the sleeves are a bit short for me, I like that, because it allows my blouse to peek out a little. Also, I don't mind sleeves that are a few inches above the wrist because that way you can show off your bracelets better. This is an outfit I might wear to work or a work party. The black and white combo are professional, but the sequin on sequin action is tons of fun.
