5 Habits You Don't Need to Quit in High School

Yes, you are now in high school. It's exciting. Everything is new and fresh and wonderful but also kind of change-y and scary. Don't worry, here are some habits that you don't need to dump as soon as you enter the crazy world known as high school:

1. Shopping with your mom. How many times in your life are people going to say, “I want to buy you clothes”? Not too many. Yes, I know it’s embarrassing to be seen in public with your parental figures, but if your mom is willing to fork over cash for you in exchange for some “quality time,” then by all means, let her!

2. Going to bed at 8 p.m. While it may seem like everyone is a zombie in high school, they’re really just sleep-deprived. If you can manage to hit the sack at eight, everyone will envy you. (Unless, of course, your whole school really is full of zombies, in which case, you should never sleep, and keep weapons with you at all times).

3. Hanging out with your siblings. Most high school friendships are full of drama. You know who can’t decide to never talk to you ever again and then spread nasty rumors behind your back? Your siblings. And if they do, you can just complain to Mom. Siblings are built-in friends. Also, in a few short years, you are going to move out of the house and then you’ll wish that you had been closer to your annoying little brother who you won't see every day anymore.

4. Watching Disney movies. If you are in high school and cannot belt out “I’ll Make a Man out of You” like a champ, something is wrong with you. Call up all of your friends and have a Disney movie marathon.  Right now. The same goes for Harry Potter.

5. Wearing things that are comfortable. If you are most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt, then go for it. Just because everyone is following all the hottest trends and waking up at five to make sure their hair is impeccable, it doesn’t mean that you have to. You’ll be happier wearing things that you are comfortable in.

Do you have any of these habits?
