dac213, why you gotta be so convincing? Sparklers, welcome to your easy A. –Sparkitors
You have to study, you know you do, but you don’t WANT to. What you want to do is watch a good movie...or three. Well, you can do both! Simultaneously, if you catch my drift. There are really good movies out there that can also help you to prepare for tests, maybe.
Have a big test on the Colonial Era? Well sit yourself down with some popcorn, Avatar, and Pocahontas, because both those movies are basically seminars on colonialism! If you’re feeling really ambitious, you can also watch Pocahontas 2, and talk about how the Europeans influenced Native American culture for the extra-credit question.
It’s midnight and you need to cram for your big AP Bio exam? Watch Splice instead—you’ll be able to talk about the ethical implications of genetic engineering for days!
Learning about WWII for the fifth year in a row and need to refresh for a quiz? Watch Saving Private Ryan and as many Band of Brothers episodes as you want, and you’re set! (I personally recommend all Band of Brothers episodes, but that’s just me.)
Test on twentieth-century conflicts in Africa? Did someone say Hotel Rwanda and Blood Diamond? (I did.)
Stats final? No time to suddenly learn all the stuff you were supposed to learn over the course of the entire year? Well 21 is all about statistics! Right? I never actually watched it because there’s math in it. But it’s probably about statistics!
Slept through all those lectures on why totalitarianism is bad? And now out of nowhere your teacher is giving a test on it that’s worth 97% of your grade? V for Vendetta should keep you awake, plus you’ll learn all about totalitarianism.
Need to know all about everything important that happened in the 1960s like NOW? Redbox Forrest Gump and you're just two hours from knowledge! (Or just wait for it to come on HBO; you know it'll happen sometime today.)
What's your favorite semi-studious movie?
