BIG NEWS, DUDES: Metalhead has just released his VERY OWN ALBUM! It's time to ROCK.—Sparkitors
What is UP, you guyssss?! I'm sure you read about PrestigiousTimeLady's novel Slipping Reality getting published a few months back. Well, I, Metalhead865, have recently completed a similar creative journey.
My musical alter ego, A.I.R., has just released its debut album. Cue the cheers of adoring fans and the onslaught of groupies.
If only it really worked that way. Anyway, you may have heard the original version of my track "Rocket" on the Start Headbanging Now Playlist Of The Day. If you've heard it, you have a pretty good idea of what A.I.R. sounds like. If you haven't, A.I.R. is basically raw, unmastered alternative rock music with some electro, punk, and rap elements. There's literally a little of everything on there, from total pop-rock love songs ("Fascination") to huge punk-ish anthems ("Gasoline Fever") to funky rap rock ("Watch This"), up until the final track, "Blast It", which basically combines a little of everything you heard on the way through the album—rap, punk, electro, and huge rock hooks.
The album is called [a]Typical mainly because I couldn't come up with a better title. Just kidding. This album is influenced by a ton of other musicians, but it's nothing like anything you've ever heard before in the rock world.
This album would be a little above decent if it was done by anyone else. But the fact that I wrote all the music, programmed all the drums, bass, and synths, played all the guitars, sang all the vocals, wrote all the lyrics (with a little help from Electra from Camp Electric, which one of the songs is about), designed the album cover, and paid my own money to put this thing on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and basically every other music store out there is probably worth some commendation. *Sparkitor Dagger's note: METALHEAD, YOU ARE A ROCK GOD.*
Lyrically, sometimes it's pretty cheesy ("Here it goes here it goes so everybody knows, play it on your radio on through your stereo" from "Here It Goes"), sometimes it's pretty profound ("When I go I go all the way 'cause that's who I am and that'll never change" from "Who I Am"), but it's always fun and fresh. In "Blast It", the verse during the bridge is all references to artists on Tooth & Nail Records, my favorite record label EVARRRRR—if you catch them all, props!
You guys have been a great support to me throughout writing articles and writing lyrics on my blog, and I will not be stopping any time soon; in fact, I'm already starting to write songs for my next album!
You can buy my album on iTunes here, like my artist page on Facebook here, and listen to some of my older stuff here.
And in closing, NO I DON'T KNOW WHAT A.I.R. STANDS FOR YET! I may need your help figuring that out...
See you later!
