Halloween Fashion, Part Two

Halloween Fashion, Part Two

By Apneet

We are drawing ever closer to Halloween night, and the whole city is decorated with Jack-o'-lanterns, skeletons, and other festive touches. I drew from my bag of witchy things some more to share, so here they are!

(Dress, $5 | Shoes, Topshop)

I honestly can't remember where I bought this dress. I remember taking a walk around Brooklyn and spotting a "secondhand clothing" sign in a storefront. Upon walking in I noticed nothing special, but decided to take five minutes regardless and shop around. I went straight to the dress rack, where I found this gorgeous sixties velvet dress. It fits me like a glove, and I'm madly in love with the zipper and rosette neckline.

In keeping with the obvious velvet theme I've had going with the Halloween special, here's a midnight blue velvet maxi I spotted and decided I couldn't live without. I'm wearing it here with a ruffle back blazer. The silhouette of this ensemble is very classic and girly, and the colors are dark and romantic.

(Sweater, Hold My Gold Vintage | Shorts, Buffalo Exchange, $28 | Shoes, Jeffrey Campbell

Last but not least, this outfit is everything I've been looking for for a while: a perfectly oversized open-knit sweater and leather shorts with an excellent fit. Like I've said before, if you keep an outfit monochromatic, you can really play with textures, and this ensemble is a great example of combining different fabrics but not looking too overdone.
