gabbygaleglee is about to blow your iPod's mind. —Sparkitors
As I was sifting through another great day's worth of SparkLife posts, exploring and thinking about a spaghetti hot tub, I noticed that there's a huge lack of articles about different cultures. WHAT?!?! Where did all the awesomesauce posts about life in another country go? Where are the exotic recipies? WHY HASN'T ANYONE WRITTEN ABOUT LIVING ON MARS YET!? Ahem. Went too far. I decided to my part in the diversity battle by filling your brains with some of my favorite NON-American, NON-British pop songs!
1. Camila: Entre Tus Alas (feat. Colbie Caillat): We're starting out nice and easy here! These guys are originally from Mexico and have taken the Latin world by storm, and lately the American world. They're best known for rockin' love ballads. This one is about someone who is willing to risk freedom for the one he loves. The original is completely in Spanish, though I prefer the Spanglish one better (hence the Colbie Caillat duet).
2. Daddy Yankee: Ven Conmigo (feat. Prince Royce): Okay, maybe some of you have heard about the great Daddy Yankee, but you might not have heard some of his new hits! The Puerto Rican joins forces with a newbie artist by the name of Prince Royce (no people, he has no relation to the fancy cars) who originally sings songs known as Bachata...but we'll get to that one another time. This is the kind of song that you would hear at a club or super awesome cool party (I mean come on, tell me right now you don't want to get up and dance! I DARE you).
3. Sonohra: L'amore: And now Sparklers, I bring you Sonohra. These guys are the whole package: they're brothers, they're cute, they're Italian, and they speak three languages. WHAT?! Well, they can sing in Italian, English, and Spanish. And they're cute. Heard all you need to hear?
4. David Bisbal: Buleria: Now let's spice things up a bit! David Bisbal is the greatest Spanish vocalist on the planet. His songs are amazing—hip, danceable, and a good break from other pop stuff. This guy is also good with love songs, because his aren't always sappy and dripping with fuzzy feelings, just with pure dance power. Fun Fact: This guy has also sung duets with the likes of Jessica Simpson and Rihanna.
5. Chino & Nacho: Niña Bonita: Looking for a new kind of love song? Search no more, cause these guys are for you! These cuties from Venezuela can really sing to a girl in a way that doesn't make you want to vomit your guts out cause of all the sugar and spice. All you Manklers out there can learn from these guys! They also have upbeat tracks that are totally amazing and very danceable. Check out their CD Mi Niña Bonita!
6. El Potro Alvarez: Bla Bla Bla (feat. Chino & Nacho): Here we have another jump around dancing till you drop song. This guy is also from Venezuela and does most of his collabs with my good pals Chino & Nacho. So ya think your loved one is cheating on you? Wanna find a song that will make you feel better and at the same time make you dance til you drop? Look no further, 'cause this is the one for you! It's fun, catchy, and completely awesome, so do yourself a favor and check it out.
I hope that I have opened your eyes and ears to a new and awesome world of new music. Wait, you're still here? What's wrong with you all?!! Get to iTunes NOW NOW NOW!
