HazelRachel, your local defender of Blonde Hair, is back give you the inside scoop on long hair (including the problem of hamsters). —Sparkitors
Recently, short hair has been a trend—especially those 2-inch-long hair cuts that only some girls can pull off. The only time my hair was ever shorter than my shoulders, was when I was a baby. I never cut my hair, and I often get asked why I don't chop the animal off my head. My hair has always been long (and blonde), so I wouldn't really be able to compare and contrast... But I can tell you what I love, and don't love, about my hip-length hair!
Cons:
- It gets caught in everything. Seriously. Trees, bushes, braces, beads, necklaces, doors, car doors, windows, cabinets, my teeth, other people's teeth, brushes, combs, shirts, belts, eye lashes, buttons, hamsters... do I have to go on?
- You spend more money on shampoo and conditioner. Anyone who has long hair knows how annoying this is. I mean, you JUST bought that expensive cupcake-scented shampoo 2 weeks ago!
- Curling it takes forever. I spend hours trying to style my hair, and even then it usually doesn't work.
- It takes longer to brush. Long hair equals lots of tangles. Or you could just use more conditioner, and then go out and buy more...
- Windy days. Sometimes, you just can't control it. and you end up looking like this.
Pros
- You can do crazy-awesome things with your hair. Ever heard of a braided bun? Try it. Princess Leia buns? Not a problem.
- It makes you look younger. Who wants to look old? Not me!
- No one will ever mistake you for a man. As long as you are not a man, how is that not a good thing?
- It's just plain sexy. You can't see her with short hair, can you?
- Windy days. On some other days, you actually do end up looking like a goddess.
Is long hair worth the trauma?
