jayt919, we've always wanted SparkLife to have a theme song! —Sparkitors
Woot! It’s time for Spirit Week and every single person is digging it at the SparkLife Academy. This year’s SparkLife Academy spirit week themes are...
Monday: School Color Day
Wake up in the morning and throw on sparkly silver pants, a blue tie, and a purple top hat (or other clothing displaying school pride), along with the compulsory white-and-blue-asterisk custom username shirts. Varsity Quidditch players may wear their robes over their tee. Remember, your clothes must be Unicorn silver, Spark-y blue and Bergstein purple; everyone will point at you and laugh if you even dare show up in Slytherin silver apparel.
Tuesday: Literary Fandom Day
Back to the heart of SparkNotes! Come as a character from any literary fandom; anyone from Fitzwilliam Darcy to Hermione Granger is welcome. (All yummy snacks from books are also welcome!) The catch? Stay in character the whole day. Call us foul, loathsome evil, little cockroaches, but you can't tell your lovable red-headed best friend how much you ardently admire and love him without six years of NBK-worthy tension.
Wednesday: WeDansDay
Blogging Twilight and Harry Potter marathons will start at 8 AM (deleted scenes included). Following that, a tribute to Dan Bergstein will be performed by every school club, starting with the Marching Band and ending with the Quidditch team, while the whole school sings “The Star-Dan-gled Banner.” This will all be followed by a special evening of the Movie Club where we watch the Oscar-winning documentary Daniel Bergstein III: Never Say Waffles.
Thursday: Crazy Day
Some students argue that this shouldn’t be part of Spirit Week, but for most it's a huge favorite—everyone must roll out of bed and go directly to class!
Friday: SparkLife Day
The last Spirit Day is the celebration of the supermegafoxyawesomehot SparkLife. What better to start than with a gigantic SparkLife cake? We sing the SparkLife School Song (see below) before browsing through the common room (known as the Open Thread). From there, students have an eclectic selection of activities to choose from, ranging from Auntie SparkNotes All-Around Advice-Athon to an epic, beastly version of the Writer Wars. Lastly, at the closing assembly, everyone signs Spirit Weekbooks, which are just like yearbooks, except for Spirit Week.
And that closes Spirit Week 2011—let’s be looking forward to Spirit Week 2012!
For your supreme benefit, I have included my version of the SparkLife Academy school song:
In our humble corner of the Internet,
Rest within this lovely school,
Whose beastly epicness,
Makes us dominate and rule,
Run by the Sparkitors,
Emma, Chelsea, and Emily,
We teach all who register,
And join our family,
At the SparkLife Academy,
We have Open Threads galore,
Posts on every single specialty,
Advice, NBKs, and the whatnot,
Maybe some help on the SAT,
And of course, there’s Dan,
Sploggers, Manklers, and more,
Awesome, sparkly Sparklers,
We all form the core,
At the SparkLife Academy,
We’re the best of the best,
Look at our standardized tests,
Come join our community,
At the Sparklife Academy!
Anyone wanna sing this and send in a vid?
