TheaterAddict is almost done with the first season of Doctor Who! —Sparkitors
Episode Ten: The Doctor Dances
The Doctor is in the same scene as he was in episode nine, with the Gasmask children creeping up on him begging for their “Mummy,” and the Doctor yells, “Go to your room!” And just like that, the kids leave.
Of course, soon The Doctor and Captain Jack start bickering, and it turns out that Captain Jack was trying to con Rose, and he blew up an empty space ambulance which The Doctor thinks is responsible for the Gasmask epidemic.
The Gasmask-infected children chase the group into a room that seems like a dead end. Jack leaves, and gets in his spaceship to help out The Doctor and Rose.
Nancy decides to leave the orphans, because she believes they’re in danger when they’re with her. She then sneaks into Ground Zero, where the space ambulance crash-landed. She gets caught and locked in a room with someone who’s diseased.
Ahh! The Doctor ALMOST DANCES WITH ROSE! I mean, the two of them end up talking, and Jack interrupts their special moment. But still.
Jack, The Doctor, and Rose, go save Nancy. They open up the ambulance to see what’s inside...and it’s empty. Except the Doctor figures it WAS full of nano things that heal people. The Doctor thinks that it has never been exposed to humans before, so when it came across a dying boy with a gas mask, it decided that all humans should have gasmasks.
It turns out Nancy is Gasmask Kid’s mother, and the entire situation is resolved when she tells Gasmask that she’s his Mummy. The nano-things recognize Nancy’s DNA and bring the boy back to normal. I guess I can’t really call him Gasmask Kid anymore.
Anyway, a bomb is headed their way, and the only way to stop it is to use a spaceship to bring it out in space, so Captain Jack uses his ship to take care of the bomb. For a minute we are lead to believe Jack will die, but then The Doctor shows up in his TARDIS, and Rose finally, finally dances with The Doctor!

Episode Eleven: Boom Town
This episode starts off with a man begging the Slavine (I thought she died a few episodes back. Obviously I was wrong) not carry out… her project. Unfortunately, she transforms into her alien form and kills him.
Meanwhile, Mickey finds Rose in the TARDIS, and… he’s sort of the awkward outsider.
Back at the office, another girl has figured out the Slavine's plan, and the Slavine raises her claw, getting read to kill yet another human… and then learns that the girl is engaged and pregnant, so she decides to spare her life. Apparently murderous aliens have some sort of moral system? It’s okay to kill humans, just not humans in love with a baby on the way.
The Doctor sees the Slavine’s picture in the newspaper and decides to go after her. An epically dramatic chase ensues, and they corner her. They talk, and The Doctor figures out her evil plan to destroy humanity (again).
The alien whines about getting a death sentence if The Doctor brings her back to her planet. Well, she DID try to destroy the entire human race; I say she deserves it. She challenges the team to look her in the eye as they bring her to her death. Sadly, no one takes her up on this. I would. I think she deserves it.
Rose goes off with her idiot boyfriend again. Honestly, I’d rather her be with Captain Jack than Mickey. Although I’ve learned that Captain Jack is gay from watching Torchwood, so ROSE WILL BE WITH THE DOCTOR! I’m assuming, anyway.
So basically the rest of this episode is just the Slavine taunting the team, and she ends up escaping her fate by staring into the soul of the TARDIS, and being returned back to an egg. A baby. So in a few decades, she can try to take over the world all over again.
Only a few episodes left guys. Stay tuned.
What would you have done with the Slavine?
