Planking sounds a bit silly, and when put in a sentence (“I’m going to go plank that concrete Target ball.”) a bit dirty. But it’s not, really. I promise that this is nice clean fun for the whole family! Provided you have family members willing to look completely mental in public.
Now, I must explain what planking is to those of you who don’t know. To plank one must lie down on one's stomach in a strange, random, or famous place. You have to lay completely stiff (like a plank) and point your toes out and point your fingers towards your toes. A picture must be taken of the action, and the picture must be subsequently named, posted on a social networking site, and laughed at.
Planking is a great pastime for people who get bored easily and have friends or family willing to take pictures of them/with them looking like they need a lot of meds. Public planking can be very adventurous and hard to pull off if one takes on objects that require strong abdominal muscles.
I think that planking is highly enjoyable, and I don’t mind looking stupid in public. There are many websites devoted to it, but this is my favorite. Below are pictures of me and my friends planking it up in cool places. Please enjoy.
