aishu123's got the tips to finally put your nightmares to bed. (ZING!)—Sparkitors
So you’re probably thinking “How old is this girl, like, 5?” but hey, admit it: we all still occasionally get attacked in the middle of the night by a strange terrorist only to wake up screaming and realizing (too late) that it was only a nightmare. Only a nightmare…only just a figment of our imagination. Right? It better be. Anyway, here’s a guide on coping with nighttime phobia:
1. Put the neighborhood back to sleep. Due to your bloodcurdling screaming, everyone within a three-mile radius probably has been aroused from their slumber. All you have to do is open the window, stick your head out, and yell, “What? You’ve never heard a girl scream before? GET ON WITH YO’ LIVES, PEOPLE!”
2. Distract yourself. You’re probably still shaking from the adrenaline of all this, so pull out that trusty old iPod of yours and start up a jam session. Throw on some smooth jazz or, in my case, blow it up with some screamo or death metal.
3. Make time fly. All that music, adrenaline, and screaming is probably going to leave you in a situation where you can’t go back to sleep anymore. So treat yourself with something you wouldn’t do in daylight that you haven’t done in a really long time. Suggestions? My pleasure. You could: color from a dinosaur coloring-book, put on a puppet show for all the dustmites in your room, eat an ice-cream waffle sundae, make a mystery potion with any household chemicals you can find, etc. Just be creative.
4. Be prepared to explain any household mishaps or accidents you may have caused while “being creative.” Your parents would probably want an answer for why the whole left side of the house had been blown into pieces due to the overload of gaseous matter your strange potion had caused. Either come up with a way to fix the problem or devise a clever believable explanation, like "Uh, magic?"
Do you still get nightmares? We get them all the time! How do you deal?
