Coming Out and Dating on Skype

Ahoy Sparklebutts! You may remember me from this little post about my coming out. Well, I'm back! While things have still been rough with my parents, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and since it's crush week... You getting it? ;) Any guesses??? YES! I have a crush!!! *fanfare*

So the story goes like this. One day a long time ago, months before I came out to my parents, that good ol' buddy of mine Noel (the one and the same who encouraged me so much later!), shared some pictures of this really pretty girl. I was kind of starstruck by how gorgeous she was... I stared. (Good thing I was only looking at a picture!) So we talked and I admired and then for some reason which I can't recall, we moved on.

That all changed last night. Late, late last night, I was getting ready for bed when I decided to humor my Facebook addiction and check it again before going to bed. Noel IMed me and told me “big news!!!!” Turns out that big news was that he told this beautiful girl about me and showed her a picture, and she wrote on his wall saying she really wanted to me... Eeeeeeeeep!! He quickly informed me of the details and before he could even tell me to add her, I had. And two minutes later, she accepted. He heralded the day as well spent and we both liked his status. :)

After that things went very well! According to proper crush protocol, I added her so she messaged me first. I was awkwardly nervous but we fell into conversation like we were old friends. We fell asleep texting, woke up texting, and are scheduling a Skype date! I'm slightly nervous and I have no idea what I'll wear (because she WILL be able to see my outfit on Skype, right?!) but I am cautiously optimistic. We have to have a Skype date first because she lives in the Capital and I live three hours away, but since it's vacations she's planning on visiting my town to take pictures. Because she's an amazing photographer, and my town is sort of picturesque.

So this thing is picking up, and I'm incredibly lucky to have the friends I do! Whether this crush ends up going anywhere, time will tell... Maybe the Sparklers are interested in another NBK[by a girl]? And if you have any tips for a Skype date, please do share them.
