This reminds us of the video of the two little kids kissing we posted, Intern's Pick: First Kiss! and for that we thank you Laneylaneybird! We wish we could all be as fearless in love as your 4-year-old self. -Sparkitors
Ah, springtime. A time of flowers blooming and children laughing. Years ago, one of those children laughing was an exuberant and charming dark haired beauty by the name of Laney (which of course, is me). However, my adorable 4-year-old self was not alone in the joyous springtime merriment. There happened to be two other young children who had the good fortune of being my constant companions. There was the dark, mischievous, 5-year-old bad boy Josh, and the chipper, sweet-as-sugar, 5-year-old hunk Mitch.
And both were hopelessly in love with me.
Oh yes, I was a pre-school player.
Now, don't get the wrong idea. Yes, I was playing them, but give me a break, I was only four and I had a fierce appetite for affection. And they weren't complaining. They professed their love for me like little Romeos, bearing tokens of affection that usually squirmed and ate dirt. I'm pretty sure I was engaged a good twelve times to each of them.
At some point, though, I had to choose. I began to favor Mitch. After all, he WAS handsome. He had blonde hair and green eyes that made my pudgy knees weak. He was everything I could want and more. Plus, his mom worked at my daycare so I always got extra snacks for cavorting around with her son. *happy dance*
One day, on the curb in front of Mitch's house I made my move.
"Mitch do you like me?" His eyes went wide.
"Of course!" He blurted out. "You're awesome!"
I giggled "Then can I be your girlfriend?"
"YES!" He practically screamed.
"Kay!" I replied, grabbing him by the hand. "Then, as your girlfriend, I have to give you a kiss."
Poor boy didn't stand a chance. I leaned to the side and pressed my lips to his and gave him his first kiss ever. And he hadn't even been on the big-kid slide yet.
"YAHOO!" He yelled and shot up like a rocket, jumping around and laughing like a mad man. I soon joined him and we laughed and laughed as the sun went down.
Do you think that the type of person you crush on at four has any relationship to the type of person you crush on when you're older?
