Sierra's Prom Diet: Hell Week and Cast Parties

Sierra, aka district12lives, made it through Hell Week alive ...and she got to hang out with her crush! We're super proud.— Sparkitors

I guess I should probably address something that came up in a lot of the comments last time: how it sounds like I'm being too hard on myself when I eat a lot. I don't usually tend to beat myself up for straying from my healthy-eating path, but on this particular occasion, I actually started feeling physically gross from all the crap I ate—not just emotionally gross! I agree that it's fine to splurge sometimes, but that was definitely the first time I've eaten seven desserts in one day; it was ridiculous, and not something I'd ever do again. Once in a while I mess up and just need to vent, ya know?

Oh and hey, idontlookatexplosions (I don't either)—my real name is Sierra, and our secret word shall be BAZOOKA! (But if you think you know me in real life, you probably know who Ron is too—and if you direct him to these posts, I shall creatively get revenge.)

And to all the people who have been commenting about how amazing Florence + the Machine is: I totally agree! They are AMAZING, and they have some great workout songs.

Now, for the real news: Hell Week = surprisingly un-stressful. This is probably due to the fact that I actually tried to go home before rehearsal and did thrilling things like laundry and homework. Oh yeah, and I ate. Actual food. No midnight snacking for me, but I did get in some real meals there. And I actually gained two pounds during the week, since I couldn't work out. Not good.

BUT today I weighed myself for the first time in a couple weeks, and I guess since then I've lost not only those two pounds, but two or three (the scale couldn't decide) more as well! HUZZAH!

I didn't get to work out at all during Hell Week, but the week after we didn't have reheasals since we were on to actually doing SHOWS, so I worked out a LOT (capitalizing words is BOMB) just because it felt amazing. I think that's probably the reason that those pounds came off, although it could have also been because of last weekend—staying up all night at the cast party really takes away your appetite, it turns out!

Speaking of the cast party... I actually got to hang out with Ron a lot! I barely saw him during Hell Week, but at the cast party we hung out (not just the two of us, but still!) for hours! We watched I Love Lucy, prank-called the Home Shopping Network and the Cutlery Channel (did you know there is a knife set called the "World's Best Mom"? And "Peanut Surprise"?), and played Truth or Dare in a dark room for two hours! It was amazing fun, and I found out something about him that I had suspected but wasn't sure of: he's never kissed anyone! This is a good thing, because it explains why he is even more awkward than me around the opposite sex. I also think it's super cute that he's inexperienced. Actually I just think he's super cute. And we all ended up sleeping in the dark truth-or-dare room (not like I ended up sleeping next to him or anything...wink wink).

Anyway, now that the play's over, I'm launching into full-blown PROM MODE! This week I'm going to get back to my regular schedule of working out, and next week I'll be at OUTDOOR SCHOOL (a nature camp for sixth graders, AKA the greatest thing in the world) being a camp counselor and hiking and singing. Also, they have plenty of delicious, nutritious food there. And you're really not supposed to bring snacks. Temptation = gone! And AFTER that, I'm going to officially pick out my prom dress, buy it, and get asked to prom, while juggling AP exams, make-up work from the week I'm missing, exercizing, scholarship applications, and trying to make lasting memories of senior year. Simple, right? Don't worry, I have some secret plans in the works— more on those next time!

Ah, the suspense is killing us! What do you think Sierra's secret plans are?!
