minipinkelephant MADE this flubber. We thought only rocket scientists knew how to make flubber. We also failed Chemistry class, but that's beside the point.—Sparkitors
I just read MademoiselleCoccinelle's post about why Chemistry Class is terrible, and I gotta say, I completely disagree. Signing up for Chem is NOT like selling your soul to Satan, it's like watching as something you previously believed only to exist in the special-effects department of major Hollywood production companies come to life. I'll concede that chemistry class IS similar to Potions, but only in that you get to make really cool new things (like homemade flubber!), and that your lab partner is probably a cute, nerdy, Harry Potter look-a-like. Here are 7 reasons I LOVE chemistry class:
1. You get to mix random chemicals together and see what happens. Yes, sometimes things do explode, but you should know ahead of time if this is going to happen, so there's no chance of getting hurt.
2. You get to SET THINGS ON FIRE. The sleeping pyromaniac inside you will awaken and be thrilled.
3. It's really interesting to learn why things happen the way they do, like how fish survive when the lake they live in freezes over. (You'll have to take chem to find out the answer. I refuse to tell you.)
4. While it may be a bad idea to WRITE a freestyle rap about the periodic table, your chemistry teacher, if he is anything like mine, will already have one recorded on his laptop. He'll also write his own songs to explain new chapters in the textbook, and will sing them over the intercom to the school secretary.
5. When you're playing with chemicals, you can put on cute little goggles, mess up your hair, and pretend to be a mad scientist.
6. You get to hear stories about how your teacher used to boil lobsters over the Bunsen Burners in his college years.
7. It's a break from AP United States History. That, in and of itself, is awesome.
Chemistry is an amazing class, and if you don't think so, then you need some professional help, preferably in the form of more chemistry class.
So, did minipink change your mind about chemistry?
