saranvd declares her love for some mega-fine musical men. Enjoy! —Sparkitors
After reading minuet_in_g’s post, I decided there were a few more crush-worthy leading men worth mentioning, and since I'm a self-proclaimed Broadway fanatic, I felt obliged to write a post of my own. My list is based on Broadway shows (stage versions) that have arrived on the scene a bit more recently—bringing some great new eye candy with them.
DISCLAIMER: My list, which is based on the original Broadway casts, is not complete. If it were, it would be a full-length novel. Does not include amateur productions (sorry, AVPM).
Fiyero Tiggular from Wicked: Known to many as “Oz’s most swankified Winky prince,” Fiyero certainly earns his title. He’s fun-loving, charismatic, confident, and willing to stand up for what he believes in. And he’ll support his girl through thick and thin. Plus, he’s hot.
Quote: “Somehow I’ve fallen under your spell, and somehow I’m feeling it’s up that I fell.”
Roger Davis from Rent: No list is complete without Roger. I mean, really: he plays guitar, he writes love songs, and he's absolutely adorable.
Quote: “Find one song, a song about love, glory, from the soul of a young man…”
Gabe from Next to Normal: Okay, he’s on the creepier side, but I still love him. Just listen to him sing and then tell me I’m wrong! He’s so seductive—plus, the actor who played his role in the original cast, Aaron Tveit, has also played Fiyero and Roger at some point. It's like a never-ending circle of ubermegafoxyawesomehotness.
Quote: “I am flame and I am fire, I am destruction, decay, desire…”
Usnavi from In the Heights: Usnavi has the honor of performing some of the only rap music I will listen to. Don’t you dare insult his name, either; it’s not his fault his parents named him after the first boat they saw when coming to America. He’s super-cute and awkward, shy about asking out the girl he likes, and endearingly ecstatic when he finally snags a date with her. On top of all that, he’s a beast dancer, and he speaks Spanish—I'm such a sucker for a bilingual guy.
Quote: (talking about the boat he was named after) “It really said ‘U.S. Navy,’ but hey, I worked with what they gave me.”
All right, are there any leading men who missed the boat this time around?
