My Crush is the Leading Man in a Musical

By Contributor

We're right there with ya, minuet_in_g; back in the day, we used to drool over Captain Von Trapp. And by "back in the day," we mean "last week." —Sparkitors

I was first introduced to movie musicals when I was 4 years old, and I've been obsessed ever since. As a kid, I loved the musicals for their songs, their drama, and their fantastic costumes; now, I love them for their extremely handsomesexysauce leading men. The following three guys can can act, sing, and dance, all while looking absolutely gorgeous—don't even pretend like you're not crushing too.

Robert Preston as Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man: Professor Hill is an irresistible bad boy: he causes trouble wherever he goes, but he's so charming that it hardly matters. As Hill, Preston is charismatic and totally crush-worthy; his sexy voice and wavy auburn hair make me swoon every time.
Favorite line: “Your apprehensions confuse me, dear.”

Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady: Yep, another professor—what is it about this career that makes men seem so attractive? Higgins is suave, British, and handsome, and even though he can be stubborn, he can’t help falling in love with Eliza. Did I mention he’s British? Sigh.
Favorite line: “Eliza, where the devil are my slippers?”

Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music: The benefits of this guy are three-fold:
1. He has a hot accent.
2. He knows how to deal with Nazis.
3. He looks dang good in a uniform.
What's not to love? Move over, Baroness what’s-her-name and how-do-you-solve-a-problem-like-Maria, the Captain is mine.
Favorite line: “You may call me Captain.”

Anyone else have a leading man crush?
