Thanks to beks405, we've now got a few indie crushes of our own—Zac Efron counts, right? —Sparkitors
I can happily say that I've never had a thing for Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber, or a cast member of a High School Musical movie (although I'll admit to a brief Robert Pattinson phase, but only when he played Cedric Diggory, I swear!). Now, does this mean that my interests lie solely in those pretentious hipsters with oversize glasses and stupid hair? Most assuredly not! No, friends, my "indie boys" have substance, sincerity, and sexiness. Here are my favorite steamin'-hot slices of musical men:
Andrew Bird: I've probably had more fantasies about this man than I've had about becoming a Harry Potter character. (That's quite a few, trust me.) Let's take a moment to get past the gangly frame, oldness, and slight resemblance to Bill Nye the Science Guy. What we find is a deep, impassioned, supermegaschmexilicious singing voice contrasting with a shy, adorable, and soft-spoken personality. Oh, and this. Nick Jonas, eat your heart out.
Sufjan Stevens: Who says tooth-gaps aren't adorable? Jerkface Mcqueeney Miley Cyrus fans, that's who! His somber, whispery vocals, intense lyrics, AND pro banjo-playing skills had already made him my absolute favorite indie folk-er when I started to look up pictures and videos. And what a cutie patootie! Did I mention what a sexy bird he makes?
Angus Stone of Angus and Julia Stone: Granted, he's a bit of a pretty boy, but that's fine with me! And just listen to those incredible harmonies with Julia (who is his SISTER, by the way, not his wife *nudgewinknudge*). A cute Australian accent added to the mix never hurts (Heath Ledger, ammaright?). Unfortunately, he's recently grown a crazy mountain-man beard , but I'm sure he's just going through a phase. He'll shave it off eventually, right? RIGHT?
Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys: No scruffy beard this time! Are you shocked? Well, Alex doesn't need facial hair to be gorgeous; his big brown eyes and cute haircuts are quite enough for me, thank you very much. And his precious North English accent is noticeable even when he sings. But what really got me was the carefree attitude he carries everywhere. What's not to love about a singer who introduces a popular song to fans with a sleepy, British, "We're Arctic Monkeys, and this is I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor. Don't believe the hype."?
