If you think about it, you can solve most of life's problems with composite literary characters. Right, japannah17? —Sparkitors
Chessmedalist's article about Post-Potter Depression turned my thoughts to my own post-Hunger Games depression. Fanfic helps, but Mockingjay just came out. Does fanfic even exist for this knock-your-socks-off series? I was too depressed/lazy to look. So what was I to do? The answer hit me like a jetpack-wearing werewolf flying at the speed of sound.
In this trilogy, Suzanne Collins managed to create the most swoon-worthy male cast EVER (you read that right, sparkly Twihards). Since it's impossible to pick just one of them, here's the best of the entire cast, mashed into one person. Fellow Sparklers, I give you Prince Charming: The Hunger Games Edition, composed of...
- Gale: I absolutely dig this guy's looks: tall, lean, muscular, dark hair... om nom nom. And then there's the attitude. Tough and brave and rebellious and... (I'm drooling). Oh, and did I mention he hunts? I think he's pretty much a hunk of pure, unadulterated sexy.
- Peeta: Gale might drip with testosterone, but Peeta is just so dang CUTE! Sure, his proclamations of undying love are cheesy, but I love cheese. And with his knack for knowing exactly what to say and that mild sense of humor, Peeta has all the eloquence and charm I so crave in a man. And he bakes. And paints. And frosts.
- Finnick: I. Want. Those. Eyes. Sea green? Oh baby, yes! He may give out lots of, erm... special hugs, but who cares, the dude has a trident! I used to associate tridents with mermen and Disney movies, but Finnick changed all that.
- Cinna: Always a bit of an enigma, Cinna is one of my favorite characters. He's so talented, humble, and creative. That wedding dress? *swoons* And he makes it at great personal risk to give hope to the rebels. You lovely, lovely, noble man!
- Haymitch: I know, okay? You think my depression has driven me over the edge. It's just... I need a dose of his sarcasm. For my sanity. To ensure that my perfect man isn't too perfect, if you catch my drift.
So that's it. With the looks of Gale, the adorable puppy-love attitude of Peeta, the eyes of Finnick, the creativity of Cinna, and the sarcasm of Haymitch—is he not absolutely marvelous? Did I miss anything? Leave it in the comments! And while you're at it, I need a name for him. Something really, really spectacular.
Additions? Subtractions? A name? How about Prince THunG? ...No?
