The Most Famous Sparklers

The Most Famous Sparklers

By Contributor

We would like to include the author of this post, rebel_of_nowhere, in the list of the most famous Sparklers. We love this post, rebel! —SparkNotes editors

When most people think of a sparkler, they picture those things you light up on the 4th of July and try not to catch the front lawn on fire with. But me and my fellow SparkLife inhabitants know that a Sparkler is someone who a) is nerdy, and b) spends a ridiculous amount of time commenting on hilarious blogs. There are a few Sparklers who stand out, sometimes for their humorous opinions, sometimes for the sheer quantity of their comments. Here, my fellow nerds, are some of our most renowned Sparklers:

zella435: zella is probably the most famous Sparkler. She is the elder we all look up to, and we depend on her intelligent and excellent advice. Her frequent, quietly sarcastic references to her favorite pieces of literature both inform and amuse. zella teaches young Sparklers and actually writes meaningful comments instead of the unrelated, random, not-in-the-least-helpful blurbs most of us type out. She is so respected within the Sparkler community that no one has challenged her claim on Johnny Depp.

AlygirlRockz16: Aly is the grandma of sparklers, in the best way possible! She could sort of be a grandma-cheerleader, because she is always either congratulating you on your "first" or comforting people as they wallow in their bad fortune of getting an evil English teacher, or admit to failing at flirting in the comments of an Auntie Sparknotes post. Aly is always there for fellow Sparklers, and her famously long (and sweet) comments cheer everybody up. I’d give her a hug for being so nice but that might break my computer.

Synchrogirl117: This is our fun-fact Sparkler. She will gladly answer any questions a fellow sparkler may ask, and she is also notorious for holding long conversations in the comments. I do not encourage her whatsoever. (Kidding! Don't look at me like that!) Her observations about the world are both true and funny, as is her shock that not everyone loves the water more than a dolphin in the desert.

Iman88 and Coffinmaker: It’s always good to get a guy’s perspective, especially on such things as flirting, dating, and an overabundance of crushes on literary characters. These guys (some of the few manklers on SparkLife) add their two cents and represent the teen male nerds of cyberspace.

ProposeWithOreos: One of the many Australian sparklers, ProposeWithOreos is responsible for enlightening the rest of the SparkLife community with an astounding fact: if you don’t have snow to sled on, you sled down grassy hills on garbage bags. Responsible for the grass stains on my jeans and our accumulated knowledge of Australian slang, food items, and other facts, Oreos represents her country well (but she owes me new jeans).

Kittysaysmroww and 9soccerluv9: We’ve come to the conclusion that these two are best friends, of the Ron and Hermione variety; they love each other and love to pick on each other. We may not get all the inside jokes they throw around, but we sure get a kick out of their hilarious conversations (which may or may not relate at all to the post they’re commenting on).

houseobsessed14 and IxSeexAll:  Random is the defining characteristic of these two.  Don’t expect their comments to really be relevant to the post, but do expect to be amused. Movies, music, Channing Tatum, or anything else that pops into their heads will be posted. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading whatever it is they decide to post, but sometimes you wonder how the blog reminded them of that.

villanous_mwaha: This is one of the very many British Sparklers, always glad to correct us Americans on the finer points of British culture, like the difference between jam and custard. Also, we get a really big kick out of seeing British spellings in the comments, and reading references to Dr. Who, which is apparently to Britain what American Idol is to us. Villanous will gladly admit her many fictional crushes, and that makes the rest of us poor souls feel better about pining after Fred, who is a) fictional and b) dead.

nox_light: nox is one of the funniest sparklers, mainly because she has a habit of, well, talking to herself. No one minds it when she steals their "first"—or the next six comment slots—because she is adorably self-deprecating as she argues with herself over her monopolization of the comments.

Tinnaesel: She is responsible for putting Estonia on the map for Sparklers. Last summer, some of her hilarious posts were published, and we became aware that whenever something in cyberspace goes missing, it ends up in Estonia.

peaceonearth34: Peace can be counted on to write posts about anything. From Disney princesses who've lost their marbles to super-powered illness, she always comes up with creative and unique ideas. Peace embodies the good old Sparkler spirit of "If you think it, write it!" Other Sparklers follow in her footsteps and write posts on anything and everything they can possibly come up with. Way to pave the way, Peace!

Any other famous Sparklers you can think of?
