My Crush Is a Comic Book Character

How bout another unattainable crush post to kick off the weekend? This one's from Sparkler Orangemtgirl, who, btw, is very good at explaining the complexities of comic book story arcs to her editors. Enjoy! —SparkNotes editors

Is it just me, or are superpowers extremely sexy? Sure, Mr. Darcy and his classic lit buds are fine, but I prefer my men in spandex. So, in no particular order, here are the top four most crush-worthy comic book characters:

1. Nightwing's Dick Grayson, aka the original Robin. Robin grew up, moved away, and became super-attractive. He has most of the skills of Batman, but without nearly as much angst or emotional baggage. Plus, he is an ACROBAT! After outgrowing his role as Batman's buddy, he got his own amazing comic, Nightwing.

2. Spiderman: Most girls want to be kissed in the rain. Well, Spiderman often kisses girls in the rain, UPSIDE DOWN! Spiderman would be an ideal boyfriend: cute, smart, funny as they come, and fundamentally good. Sure, he has been a bit of a creep at times, but that was just because of the icky black alien suit. Plus, he is newly single. ;)

3. Gambit: He has the past of a thief, a deck of exploding playing cards, and a Cajun accent. But the most important part is Gambit’s rogue-ish charm. Sure, he doesn’t always use personal pronouns, but you can overlook that when you here him say the word “cher.”

4. Green Arrow: Billionaire playboys are pretty much a dime a dozen in comic books. But not all of them shoot trick arrows, or have a Robin Hood gimmick. Also, he is the only superhero I have found that sings his own background music.

Wolverine: He’s Wolverine. And Hugh Jackman. ‘Nuff said.
