There are usually parts of great films that you can't help but love. Like, the witty remarks and the brave speeches, for example. Remember that film where the guy stood up and said…..he said……"Victory is—" no, that’s not right……..darn it! Some excellent quotes are simply impossible to remember, either because they are too long and complicated, or because they are so simple that they just go in one ear and out the other. Here are some that really vex me:

Film: V for Vendetta
Quote: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
Opinion: This is genius, absolute genius, but can anyone actually understand it?!

Film: Finding Nemo
Quote: I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.
Opinion: Don't you think it's strange that, though the quote is so short, most people only remember the last bit? I bet now that you have seen the full thing you will remember it all.

Film: Harry Potter (Prisoner of Azkaban)
Quote: A word of caution: dementors are vicious creatures. They will not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. It's not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving. But you know happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.
Opinion: Aah, the wise old words of Albus Dumbledore. Pity no one can ever remember what he says…

Series: Star Trek
Quote: Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Her ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life-forms and new civilizations; to boldly go where no one has gone before.
Opinion: Yeah, everyone has heard of this one, but no one can even be bothered to recite it by heart! There is no point trying! It is a bunch of mumbo jumbo about something about space being cool, right? No? Well it doesn’t matter, because it’s the most boring part of Star Trek anyway!

Film: Pride and Prejudice
Quote:
Do you think anything might tempt me to accept the hand of the man who has ruined, perhaps for ever, the happiness of a most beloved sister? Do you deny that you separated a young couple who loved each other, exposing your friend to censure of the world for caprice and my sister to derision for disappointed hopes, involving them both in misery of the acutest kind?
Opinion: I love love LOVE this scene, but they are speaking/arguing so quickly I simply do not have time to memorize it, and that language is hard enough to understand as it is!

What quotes do you love but have trouble memorizing?
