When Apple releases a new product, it's a pretty big deal. When the iPod came out in 2001, it changed the way people listen to music on the go. When the iPhone hit the market in 2007, it revolutionized what people could do with their mobile phones. And now, in the start of 2010, tech savvy gadget-lovers everywhere are abuzz about a new Apple product, rumored to be called the iSlate.
Although it isn’t clear what exactly it will do, what is clear is this: It will be cool, and it will probably change the way we do things. In this same spirit of innovation and progress, we at SparkLife would like to propose a few other quality-of-life-improving gadgets:
iWatch
The iWatch is a wristwatch that can play MP3s, record personal voice memos for future playback, and tell you the time in 173 different languages. Just as you customize ringtones on a phone, you can set each hour, half-hour, or even minute to be signaled with the tune of your choice. Wish you could hear Justin Timberlake bring sexy back 60 times an hour? With the iWatch, you can.
iPencil
Like a regular pencil, the iPencil comes with #2 lead and will produce an erasable mark on most paper surfaces. But unlike a regular pencil, the iPencil comes with Google. Simply trace the word or phrase you’re unsure of, and a 6x50 pixel HD screen along the side of the iPencil will display the results of your Google search. Note: iPencil not allowed on SATs, classroom exams, or driver’s license tests.
iAbacus
Although the abacus, an ancient Chinese arithmetic device, isn’t usually associated with cutting-edge technology, the iAbacus comes with a lighting fast WiFi connection.
iFloss
The iFloss dispenser comes with an easy-to-use wheel that allows you to select from a variety of floss settings, including minty, waxed, and MPEG-4.
iCat
Tired of household cats that just walk around and do nothing but eat, sleep, purr, jump, and do other, you know, cat stuff? Well then this is the cat for you! The iCat comes in six fun colors, including Siamese Cyan, Calico Cherry, and Hairless Hypoallergenic.
iBrow
When a normal brow is furrowed, it sends others the message “I am confused” or “I am unsure of myself.” When an iBrow is furrowed, it sends text messages, emails, and Twitter updates.
iPotato
Like a regular potato, but with a sleeker design and more intuitive user interface.
What gadget do you wish existed?
