Cute Thing of the Week
Baby. Sea Turtle.
Ohhhhhh yes.
I just got back from a weekend SCUBA trip to somewhere turtle-filled and warm, and I simply cannot get enough of these cute (but not cuddly) creatures.
Did you know baby sea turtles hatch on the beach, and have to find their way to the sea before predators come along, or else they get eaten? Some rebellious baby turtles hatch and walk the wrong way, only to find the inside of some bird's beak instead of the ocean. But the ones that do make it can live a really, really, really long time. (Warning: Do NOT search for "oldest" or "biggest" "sea creature" on YouTube. Sooner or later, you'll see something so scarring that you'll cry silently into your snack pack bag of Cheetos Asteroids.)
The caption of this photo on istockphoto.com said this little guy/gal was on his/her way to the Mediterranean Sea when this pic was taken. Do you think the little turtle made it? Decide the turtle's fate (or write about something totally different) in the caption-fest of comments!
