We’re Bringing Grungy Back

We’re Bringing Grungy Back

Arriving at the end of a decade has made us nostalgic for decades past. We’ve been looking at pictures from the 90s, and are surprised at how relevant and cool those clothes look today.

The style we’re particularly taken with is the grunge look—greasy hair, torn jeans, and comfy flannel shirts. Sadly, fashion in most of the naughts has been much more put-together. How much easier would it be to get ready in the morning if we went back to grunchy-chic? No showering, no matching outfits, no control-top tights!

In the effort to help bring grungy back, here are three trends we’re committing to in 2010:

  • PJ tops all the time—When isn’t fleece polar bear print fabric appropriate? We can’t think of one occasion. A belt or fun necklace could totally take your PJ top from bedtime to daytime in a snap.
  • Chipped nail polish—How great would it be if a few chipped nails went from trashy to trendy? Imagine all the time you’d save on touchups, and all the money you'd save on nail polish remover!
  • Saggy butt jeans—You know when you wear your skinny jeans more than one day in a row, and the butt gets all stretched out until you wash them again? Well, let’s make that look hot so you can wear your jeans without washing them as many times as you want. We can’t wait until we hear the “Dang girl! Your hiney’s saggy!” catcalls as we walk down the street.

We hope that you join us in our crusade to make fashion accessible for the laziest people in the world…us. High fashion was so 2007! Low fashion is the wave of the future.

Are you into the grunge thing? Why or why not?
