Sparklers, Unite!
What are your editors thankful for this Thanksgiving? All of the amazing, talented, funny, thoughtful, wonderful Sparklers out there who make our jobs so much fun. The following post, by peaceonearth24 and villianous_mwaha, shows just how awesome you guys are, and what you mean to one another. —SparkNotes editors
Most of us on SparkLife share something in common: We are nerdy, wacky people who sometimes wonder about our place in the world. Some of us seemed lost...until we came across Sparklife.
We first stumbled upon it while looking for help on our literature work and, seeking relief from our tiresome studies, saw a post no doubt written by the darling Dan Bergstein. Within these posts and the comments that followed we found solace, we found peace, and—most miraculously—we found ourselves.
It was love at first sight. We had never seen such a colorful and wonderful community. It kept us alive through the thick and thin. If we were having a bad day, there was no doubt a bit of Blogging Twilight could end that. If we were ever having trouble, we had the wonderful Chris and Auntie Sparknotes to calm us. Every Friday we would run to see if we won a Friday Award. We made friends through the comments. We created a country and we fought a piece of html coding. Every day, when we came home from a long day at school, the editors had a cup of hot chocolate and a warm fuzzy blanket for us to relax in.
And yes, there were and still are those who put us down. They laugh at us and scorn us and tell us we are fools, but we know better. What wisdom lies within these pale blue walls! What relief can be found through the pages of Bergstein, Rosenfield, Lynch, Diken, Winter and oh so many others!
But what is it that makes this godly site so wonderfully...wonderful? I shall tell you: It is us. We are what makes SparkLife the most comforting site you can find, and it's both humbling and exciting to know there are so many talented people to interact with on SparkLife.
And so we write this to show how much we love you guys. You rock our world. Few other people can make us nerdy weirdos feel at home. SparkLife will be forever wonderful, and it has been difficult to put our immense gratitude into words. So, calling all who have been labeled as nerds, freaks, weirdos, etc: come to SparkLife! Come! Come!
Are you feeling the love? Write about it in the comments!
