The Cram Jam Playlist

It’s 4 a.m. You look out the window and can see the night slowly fading into the morning...possibly. It also might be a hallucination. After all, you’ve been staring at your textbooks for the past six hours, watching the letters dance around on the pages, and occasionally sleeping on a picture of Einstein, praying that by the miracle of osmosis you'll wake up understanding exactly what in the world the theory of relativity is relative to.

This is cramming, otherwise known as study hell. At some point during this marathon, you will strongly consider bringing on a sick day (my personal favorite: hot dogs and coffee. You’ll be puking in no time). But before you subject yourself to the porcelain gods, try hitting the books again. With music.

There are tons of study playlists online (including an awesome one here), and we've even made some in the past. But music gets old fast, so it can't hurt to give you Sparklers some new options:

1. “2+2 =5” by Radiohead

This song is my personal favorite for turning anger into energy. Yelling “you have not been paying attention”at the top of your lungs is a sure-fire motivator.

2. “Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Heads will roll...if you don’t finish this paper.

3. “My Step” by Little Dragon

Let Little Dragon’s upbeat synths lull you into a steady work pace.

4. “Tricky Tricky” by Royksopp

“Six’s afraid of seven, cause seven eight nine…” The fun rhymes reminds you of easier times of juice boxes and naps, but the driving beat reminds you that you’re almost there! Feel the momentum!

5. “Stress” by Justice

This song may scare you. I mean, sometimes it sounds like there’s a man chasing you with a chainsaw. But you know what’s scarier? Flunking. Get back to work!

6. "Touch The Sky" by Kanye West

What better egomaniac to remind you that you’re about to get an A than Kanye? “Imma let you finish but…you’re about to get the best test score of all time!”
